SimpleCenter and Java 6

Now that we're moving towards the final release of version 4.1.4 of SimpleCenter, we've begun working on SimpleCenter 4.1.5, a maintenance release that is focusing on these areas:
- creating a multilingual installer
- upgrade to JDK 6
- Vista support

It's been amazing to see the difference that Java 6 brings. First, the improved antialiasing makes a huge difference - it looks better and it feels more like a native application. And I can attest to the performance improvements that others have mentioned... just moving around the app is much faster, and imaging operations are dramatically faster.

We're starting the experiment of doing monthly iterative builds, and this will be our first, so we're not going to implement any new features. I'm sure you'll agree that these items above are more than enough risk. Look for the 4.1.5 release by the first week of February.

Now's a great time to get started with the SimpleCenter open source code. Go get it at http://www.simplecenter.org.
